About Marque

What this is

Marque is a small, editor’s-pick magazine of classic and high-performance cars currently for sale. Think of it as a front page, not a marketplace: every entry is a short write-up and a link out to wherever the car is actually listed. We don’t take a cut, we don’t handle the sale, and we don’t host photos of cars we haven’t written about.

What qualifies

We’re not trying to cover every car for sale — most cars, even nice ones, aren’t a fit. A listing generally needs to be one of:

• A recognized classic or enthusiast marque or model — Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, a pre-1975 American muscle car, an original Japanese icon like a Supra or NSX, and dozens of others in the same spirit.
• A genuine performance car by the numbers — roughly 400 factory horsepower or more, or a 0-60 time under about 4.5 seconds.
• Simply old: anything built before 1975 and still running qualifies on age alone.

We pass on salvage and rebuilt titles, parts cars, and anything described as needing major work (unless it predates 1960, where "barn find" is part of the appeal). See Sources for the full policy, including how we score and rank what qualifies.

How we find listings

Three ways: a small sourcing agent that checks official marketplace APIs (eBay Motors, auto.dev) against our allow-list; sellers who submit their own car through Sell your car; and, early on, cars an editor happens to notice. Every candidate — however it arrives — is reviewed by a person before it goes live. Nothing is auto-published.

How listings are credited

Every entry names its source and links to the original listing. We do not reproduce the seller’s full description or their photos without saying where they came from, and the "View listing" link always points at the place the car is actually for sale — never a copy of it on this site.

Independence

Marque is independently run and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any auction house, dealer or marketplace it links to. We have not inspected any car listed here; see each listing’s provenance note. Outbound listing links may be marked sponsored for search engines regardless of whether any compensation exists, because we cannot vouch for a third-party sale.
